SIR MUIRHEAD BONE 1876-1953 & STEPHEN BONE NEAC.1904-1958.

Muirhead Bone, Scottish etcher and lithographer, was an official war artist in both world wars. Knighted in 1937. Muirhead Bone was a prolific artist who had a massive 67 pieces accepted for RA exhibitions.

His son Stephen Bone, London born painter, wood engraver & illustrator was also an official war artist during WWll. Artist, author, critic and broadcaster. Stephen Bone went to The Slade Art School. Well exhibited inc. 12 at the RA. He became one of the countries leading camouflage experts during his time as a war artist from 1940 onwards.
