John Shapland 1865-1929. Lived Devon. Principal of Exeter School of Art 1899-1913.
Walter Henry Sweet 1889-1943. Studied Exeter under the guidance of JS. They later became partners and collaborated on works such as this pair of beautifully impressionist etchings of Venice.
