Frank Paton – British Interests 1899

British Interests 1899 by Frank Paton. His publishers, E E Leggatt & Co. had the idea of FP signing copies and that is what is on offer here. All 14 were framed over 100 years ago. Were grubby and some had knot marks from the back-board. We have had them professionally cleaned and are presented with museum quality rag mounts. Should be good for another 100 years. This one is called British Interests from 1899. And is like all here, signed in pencil.

James Abbott McNeil Whistler – Chelsea

Following the libel case with Ruskin, Whistler was in dire financial straits. He sold this plus a few more plates to the ART JOURNAL who produced this photogravure of CHELSEA for the London Virtue. Ours is very well presented in a gilt frame. Good condition, slight foxing. Image 130 x 200mm. Signed with Butterfly.

Artist Unknown – Liberty Ship

Liberty Ship is by an Unknown Artist and is a wonderful charcoal and pastel original artwork of a liberty ship being loaded up. It is signed but we cannot discern the name. It must surely date from the 1940’s. It is in fine condition with no foxing or other blemishes. It is mounted with museum quality board so should be good for another 75 years. Image measures 280 x 380mm, overall, 470 x 560mm.
