We have a large pen & ink with watercolour called ‘Saxons Wassailing’. Commissioned for Joyce Reason’s book ‘The Mad Miller of Wareham’ (J M Dent 1949) but not used. It has a small indentation mark, centre left but otherwise good condition. Signed in ink. Image 335 x 435mm.

Puritans by Salomon van Abbe is a large pen & ink with watercolour called ‘Cromwell’s Puritans Admonishing a Drunken Cavalier’. It came to us with others commissioned for Joyce Reasons book ‘The Mad Miller of Wareham’ (J M Dent 1949) but it does not quite fit the ‘Saxon’ bill. Can anybody help?? Very good condition. Signed in ink. Image 285 x 300mm.

We have 3 pen & ink’s by by Salomon van Abbe commissioned for Joyce Reason’s book ‘The Mad Miller of Wareham’ (J M Dent 1949). p.45; ‘Prancing with the music’, image 300 x 205mm. p52; ‘Small boys pelting them with rubbish’. p98; ‘Ladies from the time of King John’, image 138 x 68mm. All in fine condition. Are signed in ink. All are mounted with museum quality board.
