PRIDDEY, James - DERBYSHIRE
JAMES PRIDDEY RBSA, BWS,1916-1980
Born Handsworth, Birmingham. He studied at Moseley School of Art and at Birmingham College of Art (the world famous Margaret St.). Mr. Priddey exhibited widely including at the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal West of England Academy, Society of Graphic Art, and at the Paris Salon where he received a silver medal in 1949. He lived and worked in Harborne, Birmingham. He died just before Christmas in 1980.
Offered here is an aquatint, we think from the 1940's, early 50's/. Signed and titled in pencil. We have not a clue where in Derbyshire, hence the collage. Can anyone help? It is a little grubby and has a crease lower left but you really would have to look hard for it. Image measures 385 x 250mm.
