Henderson, Will - mezzotint of THE MILL by REMBRANDT


Fl late 19th/early 20th century. Mezzotint is regarded as by far the most difficult print medium. Mr. Henderson built his stunning reputation on his interpretation of works after the brilliant artists of the day. He made prints from originals by Turner, Gainsborough, George Romney and Birket-Foster et-al. He was well exhibited inc. 9 at the RA. This mezzotint is of THE MILL by REMBRANDT. The original is in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art, Washington. Ours was published by the Gainsborugh Galleries, London in 1919. Signed in pencil. Has very slight foxing.
