Chattock RE. RBSA. Richard S - The Duck Shoot
RICHARD SAMUEL CHATTOCK RE. RBSA. 1825-1906.
Solihull solicitor who discovered a talent for painting and etching, this became his life. Very widely exhibited inc.30 @ RE and 8 @ RA. His master work is from the 1870's of 16 etchings in a presentation called 'The Black Country'. His expertise was to show it as it was: he would never gild the lily.
Here is an etching, untitled of a man shooting a duck. Signed in pencil. A true tribute to the original picture framer, it is in remarkable condition. 125+ years old and without blemishes or foxing. Now remounted using museum quality board so should be good for another 125+ years.
There is an old oak frame with old rippled glass available at no cost other than carriage.
